The right measured survey starts with the drawings your architect needs. Agree the floors and external faces to be covered, the positions of sections and any roof or site information required. Send existing plans if available and mark the areas affected by your proposal.
Floor plans describe the building in plan; elevations record its external faces; sections explain the relationships between levels and spaces. The quote should identify which drawings are included. Roof plans, additional detail and point cloud outputs can be discussed as part of the brief.
DWG and PDF drawings support common design workflows. Confirm units, drawing scale, layer requirements and any project datum before capture. Where garden levels or external site features matter, coordinate the building survey with a topographical site survey.
Survey coverage depends on access and visibility. Tell us about locked rooms, roof spaces, occupied areas or features hidden by storage. Concealed construction is not established by measuring visible surfaces, and a measured survey is not a structural condition assessment.
